I do love a game show, and I must say this is a very entertaining one. Netflix has already released the first four episodes, and I’m absolutely hooked.
This is a brilliant Korean game show featuring the top athletes from eight different countries. This time round it’s a team competition, and it feels far more dramatic than before. The tension is higher, the editing is sharper, and the stakes feel more personal. Everyone’s got something to prove, and that makes every challenge even more gripping to watch.
One of the main competitors is eight-weight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, and all the other athletes are in complete awe of him. When they all met, moments later they’re doing a spontaneous handstand competition with CrossFitters, parkour traceurs, and even a Cirque du Soleil performer. The mix of personalities and physical styles makes it unpredictable one minute it’s all friendly smiles, the next it’s pure competitive fire.

I’ll admit, I was a bit sceptical about how the games and each round would work. But they’re actually much simpler and more relatable this season. The second challenge, for example, is hauling sandbags through an enormous shipwreck. It’s chaotic, heavy, and strangely beautiful to watch. When everyone is ziplining around with 50-kilo crates, it almost looks manageable until you realise how much teamwork and endurance it really takes.

The show’s pacing is spot-on, with just enough backstory to make you care without slowing down the action. The camera work makes you feel like you’re right there in the sand, sweating alongside them. The commentary is over the top, but that’s half the fun it leans into the drama, and the editing knows exactly when to make you laugh or gasp.
Honestly, I’ve already picked my favourite team, and I’m ready to shout at the screen when things get tense. I love that it’s not just about brute strength agility, balance, and teamwork really matter here.
I’m a quick runner, so maybe I could make up the numbers one day though I might need to start training now!
