Is it just me, or is Selling the OC actually better than Selling Sunset now? I’ve always preferred this spin-off maybe it’s the mix of personalities or the coastal vibe but Season 4 really sealed the deal for me. There’s still drama (because, of course), but it’s toned down compared to past seasons, and the office dynamic feels more balanced. Plus, let’s be real: the houses in Orange County are way nicer than the ones in LA.
This season feels like a reset. The show brings in a few new agents Fiona Belle (the young and inexperienced one), Ashtyn Zerboni (the outspoken pregnant one), and Kaylee Ricciardi (the one with all the Coachella connections). Each of them adds something new to the mix, and it’s refreshing to see different energies bouncing off each other instead of the same recycled drama.
Kaylee makes quite the entrance, immediately name-dropping her client adult film star RileyReid. That instantly brings out Gio’s more conservative side, and it’s clear from the start that their vibes don’t exactly match. But that’s what makes Kaylee interesting she’s confident, unapologetic, and not afraid to challenge the OC’s polished image. She’s not your typical conservative coastal agent, and honestly, the show needed that kind of shake-up.
Ashtyn, on the other hand, fits right into the OC mold, but she doesn’t waste a single moment stirring the pot. She’s quick to spill the tea about Hall and Tyler, becoming a reliable source of drama all season long. And speaking of Tyler even though he’s technically not part of the OC group anymore, he still finds ways to pop up. (Because what’s a Selling series without at least one familiar face floating around?)
Since it’s been over a year and a half between seasons, the show spends quite a bit of time catching us up on where everyone stands. At times, those moments feel a little forced, like the cast is reintroducing themselves. But once the new agents settle in, the energy shift is noticeable in the best way.
I especially love Fiona and Alex this season. Their friendship feels genuine, fun, and refreshing to watch. Fiona brings a softer, more grounded energy, while Alex keeps her sharp and focused — they balance each other perfectly.
One of my favorite quotes from this season sums it all up perfectly:
“The players keep changing, their faces are beautiful, but that’s not going to help you ring that bell.”
That line captures the heart of Selling the OC Season 4 underneath the glitz, glam, and luxury listings, it’s still a hustle.
Overall, this season feels lighter, fresher, and more entertaining. It’s less about catfights and more about new dynamics, personalities, and fresh perspectives. The homes are stunning, the energy is fun, and it actually feels like the cast is enjoying themselves again.
If Selling Sunset has started to feel like a soap opera, Selling the OC might just be the breezy reality refresh you didn’t know you needed.
