The beginning was iconic that graveyard setting was such a clever choice. It tied perfectly into Halloween and the eerie tone of the series, especially with the contestants literally digging up their “graves” to find shields. It’s the perfect mix of camp and suspense that makes The Traitors so addictive.

I feel like Cat Burns will be a brilliant Traitor, as will Jonathan Ross. Cat came across as calm but calculating when she said, “You’ve got to be clever, not loud,” you could tell she understood the assignment. Jonathan, meanwhile, gives off major leader energy. He even hinted at it early on, joking, “Someone’s got to make the tough calls might as well be me.” I can totally see him taking charge when it’s time to decide who gets “murdered.”

Alan Carr could do well too, but something tells me people will suss him out. When he took his blindfold off, his mouth was quivering you could almost see the nerves bubbling underneath. His line about “there being a different side to me”sounded more like wishful thinking than confidence. If people pay attention, they’ll spot his tells a mile away.

Celia and Stephen seem sharp enough to be strong Faithfuls I wouldn’t be surprised if they start piecing things together before anyone else. Celia already has that calm, observant energy, and Stephen’s dry humour makes him disarming, which could work in his favour.

The mission was a highlight. I loved how it brought back the trident concept but put a fresh spin on it. Nick is an absolute puzzle king; I can already tell he’s going to shine in the team challenges. The layout and pacing this season feel more engaging than before it’s got that glossy, confident energy of a show that knows exactly what it’s doing.

If I were Alan, I’d take out Paloma Faith first. No one would suspect him. But if he goes for Claire or Celia Imrie, that wouldn’t be a bad shout either.
Honestly, huge credit to the casting team they nailed it. Episode 1 already feels like golden television: dramatic, funny, and full of potential chaos. As Stephen Fry perfectly put it, “Something is afoot,” and after that first episode, I completely agree. It’s campy, calculated, and just the right amount of creepy. If this first episode is anything to go by, we’re in for a killer season.
