Its Friday so it’s time to focus on a Hollywood feud that shows no sign of slowing down.
A week ago, it looked that Just Baldoni was on the back foot after Judge Liman had dismissed his counter defamation case against Blake after Lively’s file against him for sexual harassment and character assassination during the filming of “IT ENDS WITH US.”
Now things are looking a bit brighter for the actor/director after the judge ruled that texts between the actress and superstar Taylor Swift discussing Blake’s experience with Baldoni must be handed over to his lawyers.
This is bad news for Blake Lively and her legal team. While no-one knows exactly what the texts contain there are two things here to keep in mind.
Firstly, if Blake thought that the texts showed her in a positive light and helped her case why would she not want them made public?
So, either the text messages do not help her, or Taylor Swift has put pressure on Blake to keep them hidden. It seems that Swift has distanced herself from her once good friend, as they never appear together in public anymore. Swift’s “why am I being dragged into this” leaked opinion only adds to the view that Blake Lively only cares about herself.
To add injury is the claim that Lively threatened Baldoni with her “dragons” (in reference to herself as the dragon queen who mastered the legendary creatures in the fantasy show, GAMES OF THRONES).
Given that Swift is by far the bigger star than Lively, it must have been very irritating to the singing superstar to be thought of as someone who would do her friends bidding.
Secondly, are the Baldoni team talking a risk asking for the texts, or do they have some inside knowledge that rather than damaging him they show Blake to be a diva and bully herself? I tend to think at the very least he will not look as bad as she claims.
Another potential bit of good news for Baldoni is that his potential appeal of his own defamation case being re-instated took a boost as some weird connections have arisen connecting Judge Liman and Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds investments and companies.
Blake’s Lively’s career has taken a serious blow, and her reputation is under scrutiny even before this case goes to trial next year. Her biggest mistake seems to be alienating her A list friends with her boasting and threats of influence with them.
Safe to say, you don’t want Taylor Swift as an enemy, but with the world-famous singer being dragged into a case that looks more and more like an ego trip, the danger of losing support from her powerful friends looks a very real possibility.
Baldoni may be down, but he is most certainly not out.
