Episode 3 flipped everything for me and yes, I might just be Team Conrad now, but probably not for the reasons you’d expect. Conrad doesn’t need to end up with Belly, or even stay in the same place. He needs a fresh start, somewhere far from the chaos that’s followed him. His dad continues to stir up unnecessary drama, and honestly, it’s time for Conrad to put himself first. He did that a little bit in the first episode where we saw him go to therapy.
I’d love to see him leave town maybe take Agnes with him. She’s quickly become one of the most emotionally grounded characters this season, and she’s the kind of stable presence Conrad desperately needs in his life.

Agnes is my favourite character in Season 3 so far but what really stood out in this episode was the added depth we got with Taylor. The writers finally gave her a richer storyline, focusing on her family and the personal struggles she’s been facing. It was refreshing to see a different side of her, and I found myself more invested in her journey than ever before.

One small but brilliant scene I loved was the dinner with Laurel, Conrad, Jeremiah, Adam Fisher, Steven and Belly. It was subtle but said a lot. Conrad quietly ordered the cheapest thing on the menu, while Jeremiah went all out and picked the most expensive and Laurel was footing the bill for both of them. That contrast between the brothers really highlighted their personalities in such a simple, honest way. Conrad’s humility and self-awareness stood out in that moment, and it added even more to his quiet complexity.

One of the most powerful moments of the episode was Susannah’s memorial. It was emotional and beautifully done. Conrad showing up was a poignant touch, though I especially appreciated how the episode was told from Belly’s perspective. It gave the scenes a sense of intimacy. I’m hoping the next episode gives us a glimpse into how Conrad experienced the memorial he tends to keep his feelings tightly guarded, and I’d love to understand more of his inner world.

As for Belly and Jeremiah’s engagement I still agree with Laurel: it’s too soon. Belly doesn’t have all the facts yet and rushing into marriage when so much is unresolved feels reckless. I get that emotions are high, and grief plays a huge part, but there’s a difference between love and escapism, and I’m not sure they’ve figured that out yet.
Overall, this episode was a definite improvement over the first two. The emotional beats were more nuanced, the character development felt more natural, and the storylines are finally starting to build momentum. I’m optimistic about where the rest of the season is headed.
What did you think of Episode 3? Were you Team Conrad, Jeremiah, or someone else entirely? Drop your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear what stood out to you!
