After watching the recent Netflix documentary on the disappearance of Amy Bradley, I found myself with more questions than answers. While the documentary brought renewed attention to a case that’s haunted many for years, it also left out crucial perspectives especially those of Amy’s brother, Brad Bradley.
In this article, I’ll share my thoughts on the documentary, highlight key points raised in Brad’s interviews and social media, and outline lingering questions that deserve deeper investigation.
What the Documentary Got Right and Wrong
The Netflix documentary presents Amy as a troubled young woman grappling with her identity. One major theme it emphasises is the idea that she may have taken her own life, triggered by internal conflict and lack of acceptance. However, this narrative doesn’t align with what Brad Bradley has shared in multiple interviews.
Brad has publicly stated that Amy came out to the family in 1995, and that by the time of the cruise, they had fully accepted her. Suggesting that family rejection led to suicide seems misleading, especially when other factors and people around Amy raise far more suspicious red flags.

Brad Bradley’s Perspective: What’s Missing
One of the most eye-opening sources outside the documentary is Brad’s own social media, particularly this post on X, where he hints at a possible link between Scientology and Amy’s disappearance.
In a Growing Up in Scientology interview, Brad shared two critical pieces of information not mentioned in the documentary:
- Amy had a boyfriend at the time of the cruise, and he was onboard with her.
- That boyfriend was interviewed for five hours during the making of the Netflix documentary yet none of that footage made it in.
This raises serious questions about the documentary’s editorial decisions. Why was an entire interview with someone so close to Amy completely cut? Why did Netflix focus instead on framing the case around Amy’s sexuality, despite her family stating she came out in 1995 and was accepted?

Suspicious Figures and Untold Leads
There are still key people connected to this case who haven’t been examined closely.
For example:
- Alister Douglas (“Yellow”) — a cruise band member last seen dancing with Amy.
- The man in the neighbouring cabin — described as unsettling and possibly involved.
These individuals were mentioned, but not explored deeply in the documentary. Why haven’t more questions been asked about their actions the night Amy disappeared?
Brad also claims that the FBI knew the identities of the two women Amy was talking to by the pool that night but never disclosed who they were to the family. That’s a major oversight, and it deserves more public scrutiny.
The Mystery Photo: My Questions That Still Deserve Answers
One of the most disturbing elements of this case is the photo believed to show Amy years after her disappearance, found on a website connected to sex trafficking.
While this image has been widely circulated, I haven’t seen any meaningful follow-up from investigators or journalists. This raises serious concerns for me.
Why weren’t sting operations attempted when the photo first surfaced? Did the FBI or private investigators try to track the source or lure out the person who uploaded it?
These are the types of questions I wish more reporters would ask whether it’s Brad Bradley, former investigators, or anyone involved in the early stages of the case. At this point, the public deserves transparency about what efforts were made or weren’t.
Final Thoughts and What’s Next
The Amy Bradley case remains full of holes, and the Netflix documentary while useful in some ways doesn’t come close to telling the full story. Brad Bradley’s perspective, and the leads he continues to push for, paint a very different picture.
There’s so much more we need to ask.
If there’s interest, I’d consider reaching out to Brad Bradley directly or speaking with former law enforcement officers involved in the case.
