Disney has officially given the green light to Camp Rock 3, and yes the Jonas Brothers are returning to their iconic roles. Joining them is Maria Canals-Barrera, reprising her part as Connie Torres, Demi Lovato’s on-screen mom.
The Jonas Brothers themselves have already started teasing the project, which is honestly the most exciting part for fans who grew up on the original movies. Demi Lovato will also be back, not just on screen, but behind the scenes as an executive producer. Given how strong her documentaries have been in recent years, this feels like one of the smartest moves Disney could make.
According to Deadline, the plot centers around Connect 3 losing their opening act for a huge reunion tour. That setback sends them back to Camp Rock to discover “the next big thing.” It’s a storyline that feels like a clever nod to the first movie, while leaving room for fresh twists.

Personally, I’d love to see the plot bring back the entire original crew. Imagine Alyson Stoner (Caitlyn Geller), Jordan Francis (Barron James), or Meaghan Martin (Tess Tyler) stepping back into their old roles. As of now, it doesn’t seem like the production team has reached out to all of them — but for longtime fans, the nostalgia factor would be unbeatable.

Of course, Disney is introducing new talent too, which could be a smart way to blend the old and new. Still, for those of us who grew up during the golden era of Disney Channel, this feels huge. Camp Rock wasn’t just a movie it was a cultural moment. For me, it really was my jam (pun fully intended).
That said, there’s always the risk of disappointment. If the script and character arcs aren’t strong enough, it could easily fall flat. Nostalgia alone won’t save it. But if they get the balance right heartfelt storylines, music that hits, and the energy of the original cast Camp Rock 3 could end up being the comeback we didn’t know we needed.
