You know when you watch a series, quite often you say that the second season isn’t as good as the first, in this case however, I disagree. XO KITTY mark 2 is even better, and I don’t normally say that! XO KITTY is an American/Korean teen drama for all ages. You get to see the…
A quick shoutout to a Netflix show that I watched last night. MISSING YOU, is one of my favourite Harlan Coben’s adaptations, so cleverly done although sometimes a bit predictable. I guess that’s to be expected with so much murder mystery content around. MISSING YOU was better than most. Harlan Coben has agreed a fourteen…
Black Dove’s six-part Netflix show offers a gripping exploration of secrecy, betrayal and the subterfuge of London’s criminal underworld and spy networks. At its core, this series is a slow burner about spy sleeper-cell Helen (Kiera Knightly), a woman who is married to on the rise MP Wallace Web (Andrew Buchan) and trapped in a…
When I first heard about Wicked, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be impressed as it has had mixed reviews from the critics, and I wasn’t a great lover of the theatre show. However, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t know though that there were…
Lindsey Lohan still has the movie magic in her veins even if the movie lets her down. She returns with another holiday cheer movie, with Our Little Secret that is new on NETFLIX. Her acting renaissance continues with the last of three Christmas movies she has done for the streaming giant. The first two were…
I wasn’t going to watch this production, but I am so glad my mum just put it on randomly and found this gentle but entertaining show. Micheal Schur, one of the writers and producers on this show, is a genius at making the most heartfelt TV shows. It is a very humbling program. Each episode…
Steve McQueen’s new movie BLITZ has arrived on Apple TV. This WW2 adventure centres on the east end of London that was subjected to heavy bombing by the Nazis, when Britain stood alone against Hitlers Luftwaffe. The film looks good and has heartfelt moments, but it lacked “oomph”. The storyline was channelling Oliver Twist and…
Actor, author, screenwriter and director, Alexander Karim took time to hang with Over the Shoulder to talk about his experience playing the role of Ravi in Ridley Scott’s new blockbuster GLADIATOR II. The character Ravi, ex gladiator turned healer in the Colosseum, is a pivotal role as he is the moral compass for Lucius and…
Legendary director Ridley Scott has returned to form spectacularly after 2023’s disappointing Napoleon, with a revisit to the “sword and sandal” genre. The director of classics such as Alien, Blade Runner and American Gangster gained Oscar success with the original Gladiator in 2000 and has continued the saga with this entertaining and action-packed sequel. The…
Running over two and half hours, Emilia Perez is a sometimes-challenging watch, but this viewer was never bored. I don’t think you could really put this film in a genre at all. Think Scarface with gender identity and musical numbers. It shouldn’t work but it does. It all begins with Rita (Zoe Saldaña) a defence…
